LOLCAT: the new hamster dance-like trend?
Friday, June 29, 2007

LOLCat the latest internet trend? Much like the hamster dance?

LOLcats are usually pictures with a cat or any other animal which have a caption on them usually written in white impact font, describing the picture. The picture being described is written in internet slang and is misspelled and full of typos often called pidgin or baby talk (this is suppose to be mimick grammar-poor patois)

Usually these types of images are found on forums, this type of typing and internet geekism is also being turned into a programming language called “LOLCODE” (link)

Recently there are sites displaying lolcats with music, sites that allow you to build a lolcat on the go called “lolcat buildrs or lolcat makers”, even a lolcat dictionary, for the rookies.

‘LOLCAT PITCHURZ!!’

Will the lolcat phenomenon end soon or is it just getting started? voice your opinion!
